COSTUME DESIGN

Laura Smith is a London based Costume Designer with over 15 years experience working on a range of platforms. Laura has gained a wealth of knowledge as an Assistant Designer on large scale Motion Pictures that include Science Fiction, Period and Contemporary Drama.

Laura’s most recent projects are Industry 3, an 8 Part Contemporary drama written by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay. Executive Producers, Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther, Ryan Rasmussen and Rebecca Ferguson for Bad Wolf on behalf of HBO and the BBC. Transmission on HBO MAX from 11th August 2024.

Industry 3, is directed by Isabella Eklöf, Zoé Wittock, Mickey Down and Konrad Kay.

Prior to this, Laura designed the Costumes for Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? A 3 part series directed and adapted by Hugh Laurie from the novel by Agatha Christie set in 1936. Starring Lucy Boynton and Will Poulter, released in April 2022 and shown on ITV1 in April 2023. It is currently streaming on Britbox, ITVX and Amazon Prime.

Industry focuses on the London office of the fictional international bank Pierpoint & Co. It follows a group of recent graduates and now young bankers as they try to stay afloat in the ultra-competitive world of high finance. Industry has been termed by Vanity Fair as the "missing link between Succession and Euphoria”.
