In an out of town venue an Audience gathers in quiet anticipation of a show like no other. A Promoter looks after the interests of a Performer with a very specific gift, taking his life in his hands with each showing. The Promoter questions how long the Performer can keep going, they both know the answer, the Audience may outlive the Performer this evening, but if not, how soon will that last show come?
A Performance is an ambient period drama that looks at the duty of care between people in an almost supernatural kind of show business that could belong to an even earlier era.
